Strain CounterStrain is also known as Positional Release Therapy. This is a gentle therapy that releases skeletal muscle tension by placing the clients’ body into positions unique for each muscle thereby facilitating a relaxation of the desired structure. This technique requires little more than 90 seconds for the results to be achieved.

Strain CounterStrain is a non-invasive approach that “resets” the resting muscle tension allowing muscle spasms to be resolved, blood flow to be rebalanced and pain to be reduced.
Typically there are diagnostic tender points in each muscle that can indicate the need for this approach.

This therapy can also be used to release the muscle layers in arteries, veins, lymphatic vessels, organs and bone. This adds tremendous value to this type of therapy. The results are reduced muscle spasms, increased joint movement, a reduction of pain and swelling, enhanced circulation and more.

What can you expect as a client?
As a client you will remain clothed throughout the treatment lying on a massage table. The therapist after assessing which structures need to be addressed, will move your body into different positions to facilitate the release. The therapy positions of which there are many, are unique and may be administered to you in a lying, seated or standing position.
